If you haven’t had the opportunity to try out Hudson and West Co. yarns yet, this is your sign. Designer-driven and stitcher-focused, Hudson + West produces beautiful yarns to support the ready-to-wear inspired garments and accessories we all love. This yarn is incredible to work with, made from a beautifully heathered blend of Corriedale and Merino fleece, sourced from the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico and New York’s Hudson Valley. All of Hudson + West’s yarns are sourced and produced in the U.S., using a traceable, sustainable, and fair supply chain.
Weld is spun at Battenkill Valley Fibers in Greenwich, New York, and dyed at Ultimate Textile in Rutherfordton, NC. This fingering weight yarn has an energetic twist for strength and durability. It has a beautiful balance of stitch definition, bounce, and woolly, cohesive bloom that produces both beautiful stockinette fabrics and delicate lace, texture, and brioche, and is perfect for stranded colorwork. Weld blooms beautifully and easily knits up on larger needles; we like it on anywhere from a US 3 to a US 6 (3.25 to 4.00 mm), depending on the application.
We are loving Weld for shawls, sweaters, hats- a full wardrobe of Weld is a dream. Check out the latest designs in this yarn from Hudson + West!
