When the new Dustland Sweater by Stephen West was released the same day that a big batch of sweater quantities of Periwinkle Sheep American Merino Worsted was released, we knew it was kismet.
The yarnistas all swooned over this design. This basic sweater is anything but boring – instead of miles of stockinette, simple combinations of knit and purl designs keep things interesting. It’s also the perfect canvas for tonal hand-dyed yarn that will add a depth of color. It has a unisex fit and a large size range.
We chose the 100% made-in-the-USA Periwinkle Sheep American Merino Worsted for this project, because of its crisp stitch definition and subtle tonal shades. It also works up beautifully at the gauge for the project. This yarn is a superwash Merino with a ‘toothy’ feel. It also has a great price point! Karin of Perinwinkle Sheep just sent us six huge boxes, so we have plenty of sweater quantities. For a limited time, you can shop this yarn in our web shop too!
