There’s lots to do this weekend in Old Town Alexandria this weekend! Join us for an ice cream social in our park to celebrate Local Yarn Store Day and our appreciation for all of you, our amazing community. We will have freebies in the shop all day from some of our favorite vendors and will be launching Manos Fino and Fino bundles! Designer Casapinka has released a brand new exclusive pattern, “Magical Thinking,” which is free if you buy the three colors of yarn at your LYS–come find inspiration in our expansive fingering weight section!

Independent Bookstore Day
Both of our local bookstores, Hooray for Books! and Old Town Books, are holding book readings and other activities to celebrate shopping local for books!

The Shoe Hive and The Hive are having bag sale starting Friday and all bags at both stores are 20% off. Then Saturday from 10AM to 2PM, The Shoe Hive is offering a Garden Party in the courtyard with Mimosas with fresh pressed juices from Toastique, a new toast and juice restaurant in Old Town.
“Traces of History” Black History Scavenger Hunt 2019 by Manumission Tour Company
Join Manumission Tour Company on their second Annual Black History scavenger hunt, Traces of History, on Sunday, April 28th. The tour begins at 3 p.m. on Market Square in Old Town Alexandria, where small teams will gather to solve clues and learn more about historic African American sites and stories throughout the city of Alexandria.
At 5:30p.m., groups will meet back up in Market Square to give away prizes to Adult and Family Teams who are successfully able to complete the Scavenger Hunt the fastest! Click here to register!
