Here’s my go to list for hat making this season! Hat’s are a wonderful gift, quick to make and can be made super unique with the addition of a beautiful pom pom!
1. Brick Sidewalk Beanie
This project is sized for everyone from infant to adult. Grab a skein of the gorgeous Neighborhood Fiber Co Studio DK for this simple and free hat pattern.
2. Jane by Jane Richmond
This is one that I’ve made for myself and many others. It uses an aran weight yarn (or heavy worsted). For a woolly option, try de rerum natura Gilliatt or Norumbega by Halcyon. For colorful hand dye, Neighborhood Fiber Co Studio Chunky is a great option. And for a luxuriously soft version, grab Woolfolk Luft!
3. Vintage Prim by Andrea Mowry

This hat is a fun brioche project, but has a good bit of mindless stitching to break up the parts that require concentration. Use Brooklyn Tweed Loft, which it calls for or perhaps Loft and Spincycle Dyed in the Wool.
4. Land of leaves hat / Løvverklue by Marianne J. Bjerkman
I’ve made myself one of these and remain in love with it! I chose the Di Gilpin for this one. Kelbourne Woolens Scout would also be a great choice!
5. Little Sister by Linda Permann
I love this sweet pattern for children. It will work up quickly with Kelbourne Woolens Mojave (for a wool free option) or even Blue Sky Fibers Eco Cashmere for something incredibly soft and warm.
