Who am I kidding, when packing for a week at the beach, it’s the knitting lineup that I’m most concerned with. Sure, I will probably take a book with me, but most of my time will be spent knitting. So for this year’s big family vacation, I am focusing on smaller projects that I can complete in a day of beach lounging. Hats! I put out a call for requests with my friends on social media and got quite a few. Here are the projects that I am taking on my trip and the yarn that each person has selected from the shop. Hopefully this will inspire your holiday gifting as well!
Beeswax Hat
This pattern was selected by Elizabeth at the Shoe Hive and the Hive for her winter hat this year. She wants a nice navy blue so I plan to use the new Eco Cashmere for extra luxury for my luxury loving friend 🙂
Yarn: Blue Sky Fibers Eco Cashmere in the navy colorway:
Stovetop
One of my besties wants a new hat for her son Harris, who is buds with my tiny human. She wants something bright to go with his navy and grey coat so we picked a bold yellow which will be topped with a faux fur pom pom.
Yarn: Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok in Spun Gold
Fuego Hat
So my favorite fellow bad a$s boss lady is Kat, the owner of Pacers. She wants a hat because I never finished the fingerless mitts that I promised her and she’s still sore about it. But as usual, she wants something grey. (she kills me.) I’ve decided to use the newly landed Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran so that I could give it a try.
Yarn: Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran Tweed in a grey:
Kobuk
There’s nothing more amazing than meeting a truly wonderful person while planning a mutual friend’s bridal shower! This is how I met and grew to love Dottie. She wants this hat pattern and checked off a few things from Hazel Knits that she liked. I’ve selected this green because it’s just a stunner.
Yarn selection: Hazel Knits Cadence in Shannypants
Chevy
This one is also for a fellow business owner – Tammy of Lavender Moon (the best cupcakes in Old Town!!) She also wants neutral colors so she’s selected this grey/blue shade from Hazel Knits as well.
