The product of an eight year labor of love, fashion historian and designer Susan Crawford has pulled together an incredible collection of designs in The Vintage Shetland Project.
Delving into the heritage of Shetland’s knitting traditions, Crawford worked with the Shetland Museum and its curator Dr. Carol Christiansen, choosing the best original designs from the 1920s through 1950s. Crawford transcribed these archival pieces stitch by stitch, and then interpreted for modern knitters. This collection contains 27 patterns of garments and accessories, with a range of sizes for men and women, celebrating design and the beautiful landscape of Shetland.
We’re so excited to have this book in space- the designs are beautiful, and the work Crawford has done is astonishing. See some of our favorite patterns below, and get inspired for your next project. $75
