Welcome to the newest addition to Brooklyn Tweed’s lineup of worsted-spun yarns, Peerie!
In keeping with their tradition of breed-specific all-American yarns, Brooklyn Tweed sourced Merino wool from Nevada and Utah and spun it with a 4-ply worsted construction into a springy and soft fingering-weight yarn. (Read more about breed-specific Merino on the Brooklyn Tweed blog.)
The huge palette of rich colors invites you to pick a single hue that strikes your fancy, or grab a whole handful for colorwork adventures! We’ve selected 24 of our favorite Peerie shades to bring into the shop – stop by to see them in person! (Join us on May 30 for our Peerie Launch Party!)
Here are the colors we are currently stocking:
- 100% breed-specific 20.5 micron Merino wool from Nevada and Utah
- Scoured in South Carolina, spun and dyed in Maine.
- 45 skein-dyed colors (we have 24 in the shop)
- 4-ply worsted-spun fingering weight
- 6 1/4 – 8 stitches per inch on US 2-4 (3.0 – 3.5 mm)
- 210 yards / 50 grams
Purchase Peerie at the shop and receive a coupon good through June 30 for a free Ravelry download of Brooklyn Tweed’s new colorwork hat pattern, Lucerne. Pick two, three, or four colors of Peerie and get ready to cast on for the Peerie knitalong! (Lucerne is designed for novice colorwork knitters, so don’t be shy!)
So many of Brooklyn Tweed’s patterns for Loft will also be perfect in Peerie – hat lovers will want to check out Seasons Hat, Sommers, and Voe Hat for starters, while sweater wearers might go for a bold Breton or stunning Stasis. And don’t even get us started on shawls!
(Patterns available on Ravelry or directly from Brooklyn Tweed.)
