Kingston. Single origin wool. American grown. American Dyed. American spun.
I was delighted to see Jill Draper at Edinburgh Yarn Festival in March where she told me about her latest project. I immediately asked if we could get it in our shop!! I am so very excited about this yarn. Lemme explain…
Kingston is a Targhee Wool grown in the Finger Lakes region on a family owned & operated farm. Jill sources the fibre and then dyes it in the wool in her gorgeous primary colors and black. It is then carded into all 8 of the amazing colors that you see here before it is spun into a springy 3 ply yarn. The result is a lovely DK weight yarn that is sure to be your favorite sweater. Each color is created from several primary colors of wool, resulting in a truly dynamic yarn with exciting flecks of color that allow all of the colors to coordinate well together.
The yarn is currently available in 8 colors, with more to come in the fall. Each one is named after the streets in Jill’s home base of Kingston.
