**UPDATE** As the government has decided to reopen tomorrow, we are pausing the free drop in lessons effective Tuesday, January 23. Classes will be held in February if the furlough happens again.
fibre space is offering free learn to knit classes for all furloughed government employees and federal contractors during the shut down. Join us Monday-Wednesday this week to pick up a new skill, or just come and hang out in our lounge space for some stash-busting time. Staff will be on had to teach, help with dropped stitches, and all your other needs. Classes will be held daily from noon-2pm, and again 2pm-4pm. If you want a place to come and work through your stash, we’ll be having an open knit time each day from 4-6pm. Yarnistas are always happy to offer pattern guidance and assistance.
All you need to learn is a pair of size 8 needles in wood or bamboo, and 200 yds of worsted weight yarn. If you want to learn crochet, join us for a special Learn to Crochet session Wednesday afternoon. You will need a size H crochet hook and worsted weight yarn.
