We’re counting down the days as we get closer to the holidays, and finding out who still needs gifts. Last minute additions to the present list are our specialty, with several quick and cozy one or two skein projects. The perfect thing to keep you going while you stay warm in the snow.
1. Hawkshaw
Thinking of trying brioche, or need a little something to impress? The Hawkshaw by Spincycle Yarns is a gorgeous two-color brioche cowl knit in the round, where you can play with colors to match any personality. We love it in Spincycle Independence and Manos Maxima, especially in our new custom color. Let the bright turquoise and corals play off a rich purple or a white for a fun striping effect. Find the pattern on Ravelry.

2. Short Story Hat
Keeping with our play with variegated and striping yarn, the Short Story Hat uses one skein of Skacel Reggae or other bulky weight yarn and lets the color play out over a garter brim, then pick up the edges for a slouchy stockinette beanie. Easily adjusted to fit any head, this is a great project for a quick hat in a cozy bulky yarn.
3. Lovisa Armwarmers
Mitts and armwarmers are my go to gift each year, particularly when I am running out of time. I love the Lovisa Armwarmers with Zealana Kauri Fingering for super snuggly warmth. And the color combos are endless! The yarn is an amazing possum and merino yarn from New Zealand.
4. Roku
Designed by Olga Buraya-Kefelian, the Roku is a perfect ribbed beanie. Knit in worsted weight, the classic shape and ribbing are the perfect compliment to any outfit. Knit this in a darker solid for a polished look, or pick up a wild variegated from Manos Maxima and see how the colors play out. Top with a fun pom pom to complete the look.
