Join us on Friday, November 24th for Plaid Friday! Plaid Friday is a fun alternative to traditional Black Friday where you can support local, small businesses and enjoy the company of other stitchers like yourself. Better yet, both fibre space and Stitch Sew Shop will be 25% all day and if you’re in line at either shop before they open, you’ll also receive a coupon for 40% off one item! fibre space will be open 6am to 6pm, and Stitch Sew Shop will be open at 8am.
Experience all that Old Town Alexandria has to offer on Saturday, November 25th for Small Business Saturday. Small businesses help the community thrive, and they are the perfect place to shop for all your holiday needs and more! We will be joining in on the fun with a pompom and tassel station. Stop by and make your very own pompom or tassel to decorate holiday gifts. The event is free and you can drop by any time during the day.
Giving Tuesday occurs each year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and is a day to donate to the causes that matter to us. Shop anytime with us any time on Tuesday, November 28th to have 20% of your purchase donated to our friends at Project Knitwell. Project Knitwell is an organization that brings the joys of knitting to those facing difficult situations, especially the patients and families of those spending considerable time in local hospitals.
Coming Up in Our Classroom!
Develop your rigid heddle weaving skills while letting your creativity soar in the Free Style Weave Scarf class starting on Tuesday, November 14th. You’re certain to have a great time playing with color and texture while making a one-of-a-kind scarf. $80.
Take your crochet skills to the next level while staying warm this fall by learning to crochet a garment. The Crochet Pullover course starting on Wednesday, November 15th will teach you all the skills you need to make a cozy sweater for the cooler weather ahead.
Go beyond one- or two-color weaving projects with the Plaid, Check or Log Cabin Weaving class on Friday, November 17th. You’ll learn all about planning for any of these patterns and get to pick and start on your very own! $65.
Winter is coming, so be ready with a pair of snuggly mittens. Learn how to work in the round using double points while mastering mitten shaping in the Introduction to Mittens course beginning on Saturday, November 18th. $80.
If you’ve been diving into the wild world of weaving but are unsure of how to finish your pieces to perfection, look no farther. The Finishing Techniques for Rigid Heddle Weaving class on Saturday, November 18th is the perfect introduction to how to professionally finish your woven pieces. $50.
Veteran’s Day
Saturday, November 11th is a city holiday in observance of Veteran’s Day, making parking throughout Old Town free! Don’t forget, we also offer a 5% discount for those in the military throughout the year with proper ID.
