Tools Tuesday: Niddy Noddy

Tools Tuesday: Niddy Noddy

We’re always on the look out for fun new tools to add to our notions wall, and this week we’re featuring something special for our spinners. If you’ve recently taken up the drop spindle, or an old hand with a spinning wheel, winding up your spun yarn requires the help of a niddy noddy. Shop favorite Katrinkles has a solution for saving space and and taking your spinning on the go with her collapsible one-yard niddy noddy.

Laser cut from the same durable plywood that Katrinkles uses to make many of her other tools and buttons, this niddy noddy comes to you in two t-shaped pieces, with a slot cut into one end. These two ends slot together to make a durable and functional tool, which will help you wind up your spun yarn into a compact one-yard skein. The niddy noddy is a travel and project bag friendly 5″x7″x1/4″  lying flat, or held on its storage board by strong elastic, and expands to 4.5″x10″ when assembled. This little tool is a perfect travel companion for spinning on the go.
