We’ve always loved local dyers The Fiberists here in space, and their newest base to us is no exception. Welcome, Audubon Unum Fingering!
Meaning One in Latin, Unum is a single ply fingering weight yarn. These types of yarns make the squishiest shawls and other accessories and have fantastic stitch definition. Fingering weight means it’s light enough to transition into warmer weather, but substantial enough to keep your warm through the fall and winter.
With 30 vibrant colors inspired by science and nature to pick from, the project options out of Unum are endless! There’s something to please everyone, from those who love the most neutral of neutrals to those who can’t get enough of intense brights. Unum is great for striping or fine colorwork, as well as just plain on its own.
While Unum is a superwash yarn, The Fiberists still recommend hand washing to ensure the longevity of the project. But rest assured, even if you knit up a gift out of Unum for the upcoming holidays and the recipient accidentally is a little rough with it, it should still look great.
