Finishing can seem like a daunting task; weaving in ends, blocking, it’s all a lot of work that still has to happen after you’ve finished all your knitting and crocheting. I’ve been piling up finished projects all summer so I can do all my blocking in one exciting afternoon of wet wool and late summer sun.
To encourage everyone to join us for end of season blocking together, this week we’re featuring some of our wool washes for blocking: Soak and Eucalan. You won’t need more than a cap full of these soaps to soak your finished product. Just add to lukewarm water, soak, squeeze, and pin to your blocking mat of choice. No rinsing required!
For more than 25 years, Eucalan has been a leader in alternative laundry soaps. Their lanolin-enriched formula can be used in washing machines and basin washing for hand garments. With two sizes, an economic 16.9 oz and a travel friendly 3oz, and a range of scents, Eucalan is great addition to your fabric care routine.
Soak is all plant-derived and rinse-free, and can be used for hand washing and High Efficiency washing machines, as well as regular machines. Complement your Soak routine with their line of Flatter sprays. Developed from the same eco-friendly formula as Soak, Flatter is a spray you can use for steam blocking garments, or as a quick refresh to reduce wrinkles and freshen scent.
As an added bonus, all of these products come in a travel friendly 100ml size, ready for you to tuck into luggage for long trips.
