Greetings from space! Hopefully you had a safe and fun 4th of July! Here’s what has been happening around the shop this week as well as upcoming classes and events.

Our Wonder Woman KAL featuring Lux Adorna is wrapping up! All the details on how to enter your finished shawl by tomorrow, July 8th are in our post, so don’t miss your chance for one of two amazing prizes!
Our Tour de Fleece team is spinning away, but it’s not too late to join in! Pick up some fiber and a spindle or use your wheel at home. We have another spin-in scheduled for Sunday, July 16th from 12-1:30, but you’re also welcomed and encouraged to sit in our lounge and spin whenever you desire.
Join us for a summer of learning. We are offering a variety of workshops throughout the summer to help us improve our skillset. July will be focusing on crochet, with workshops in Tunisian Crochet (Parts 1 and 2), Arches cowl crochet lace and broomstick lace. August features a weekend with designer Ann Weaver. She’ll be offering her No-Sew Zipper workshop, Yipes Stripes workshop (sold out, but give us a call to get on the waitlist) and Fair Isle for All workshop.
Please join us for our Wool Immersion weekend from November 9-12th in historic Old Town Alexandria. Registration begins today, June 30th for a variety of great workshops and events with designers Franklin Habit, Olga Buraya-Kefelian and Norah Gaughan. Pick and choose which events to attend or sign up for an entire weekend of fibre-y fun! There are only a few spots left, but please give us a call to be added to waitlists.
Bring your knitting into the summer while learning to make this summer weight tank! You’ll learn all about fitting a garment and knitting stripes while creating this go-to piece. The Striped Spring Tank class begins on Monday, July 10th. $80.
The Jimi Shawl class starting on Wednesday, July 12th is a great beginner shawl class with the designer, Dee O’Keefe. Learn a variety of useful techniques, including increases, basic lace and striping. $65.
Ready to jump into the fabulously fun world of brioche? Learn the basics in the Brioche Cowl class starting on Thursday, July 13th. $50.
The First Hat – Ribbed Beanie class is a great second course after completing the Intro to Knitting Course and gives you a versatile hat that can be styled a variety of ways. Class begins on Sunday, July 16th. $65.
If you’re ready to try the fun world of knitted cables, check out the Introduction to Cabling – Cabled Scarf class on Monday, July 17th. $40.
Prep for fall and winter while making the most adorable hat! The Multi-Color Fair Isle Sheep Hat class starting on Tuesday, July 18th will get you all the basics of stranded colorwork while making your very own hat. $65.
