Can you believe it’s the last Monday in June already? It feels like summer is finally in full swing. I hope that with all the schedule changes that happen this time of year, you are still finding plenty of time to stitch up the must-make patterns in your queue. We’ve got two new patterns this week to inspire you, because no matter what time of year it is, Makers Gonna Make.
And since you’re a maker, and therefore gonna make, why not make yourself a Seashore Crochet Scarf and pair it with the Anneli Double Front Dress? Don’t know how to crochet? Whaddya know, we happen to teach people how to crochet! Sign up for a private lesson or take an Intro to Crochet class and learn a new skill this summer.
This scarf was made with the sublimely soft Mrs. Moon Plump DK. This yarn is made from 80% Merino Wool/20% Camelid-Alpaca. Its so fluffy and soft, and comes in a variety of colors to choose from:
The cowl is made with three colors, which means there are so many potential combinations, you might have to make two. And best of all? You get the scarf pattern, printed in color on cardstock, for FREE when you purchase Mrs. Moon yarn!
Pretty, right? And since it’s so colorful, with such a standout crochet pattern, it works perfectly with this solid Anneli Double Front Dress by Named. It’s a #secretpajamas winner, a comfortable staple dress with a unique hemline:
This is another one of those patterns that you’ll want to make again and again! And because it also includes a pattern for a t-shirt, it’s another two-for-the-price-of-one purchase. You really can’t go wrong here, people. Click here to see how other sewists have made this popular dress and tee.
The dress pictured about was made in an organic hemp spandex. If you haven’t worked with hemp fabric, summer is the very best time to try it out! Lightweight and breathable, you’ll want to live in it all summer long. The spandex gives it a bit of stretch and helps maintain its shape. You want to pick a light-to-medium weight fabric with drape for both the dress and the top. A bit of spandex, lycra or elastane in the fabric really helps this one become your Most Comfortable Summer Staple.
Want a closer look at either of these samples? Come on in to our shop and then head around the corner to Stitch to check them out for yourself. While you’re there, the friendly staff at both shops will help you find just the right yarn and fabric to make this dream outfit a reality in your summer wardrobe.
As always, if you make either of these items and post them on social media, please use the hashtags #mustmakemonday #fibrespace #sewwithstitch. We love seeing what you make!
Happy Stitching (and Hooking!)
