Events
The Berroco Remix Light trunk show will be in space from March 24th to April 17th! Check out all the lovely patterns designed for this lighter weight sister of the beloved Remix yarn.
The Road to China Lace trunk show will be in space for the month of April. We have the projects from both The Pathways Collection and the Effortless Collection for you to see and try on.
Inspired by her lovely collection of kids’ garments, Grown by Kate Oates featres beautiful well-fitting sweaters for adults. We have all items from this classic collection in space from April 1st through April 22nd. The color combos are endless, so have a great time playing with yarn options and don’t forget to pick up a copy of the book while you’re here.
Just in time for spring and summer, the Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton trunk show has arrived and will be here in for the month of April. All patterns are beginner friendly and work up quickly as layering pieces as we transition into warmer weather.
Next week’s Stitching Survival Skills Wednesday will focus on a variety of must-know methods of decreasing. Drop by on Wednesday, April 5th from 6-6:45 for a free lesson!
The 2017 Metro Yarn Crawl begins today! You can only pre-register here at fibre space™, which will give you both the required passport and free tote. Otherwise, you can register at any participating shop. $10 registration gives you your passport, which entitles you to 20% all full-priced yarn, fiber and patterns through April 9th at all 11 participating shops around the DMV.
Our spring Friday Stitch at the Movies will be on April 7th! Join us in watching the classic girl power film Thelma and Louise. Grab a seat starting at 6pm in preparation for the movie at 7pm, and definitely don’t forget your current work in progress!
Search for Easter Eggs at participating shops around Old Town from April 7th to April 9th. Don’t forget to also collect stamps to be entered to win one of three beautiful Easter baskets filled with goodies.
Join Team Fibrenauts for the GW Parkway Classic on April 23rd. This post will give you all the details on where the register for the race (there are a variety of race options available as well!), and we’ll have a pre-race party at the shop for all team members. Anyone who presents their race bib will get special discounts as well.

Learn the basics of top-down raglan sweater construction by creating an adorable baby sweater in the Introduction to Sweaters class beginning on Saturday, April 1st. The smaller scale makes the project much less intimidating, allowing you to really focus on the construction methods. $80.
Learn how to knit sweaters in the Top Down Raglan Pullover class beginning on Sunday, April 2nd. You’ll make a stylish and cozy sweater, all while learning now to read sweater patterns, utilize basic raglan sweater construction and knit in the round. $80.
If you have ever wanted to learn how to make your own yarn, drop spindling is a great way to get started! Drop Spinning 101 begins on Sunday, April 2nd and will get you on your way to making your own extra special yarn. $65.
Move beyond scarves and other flat projects with the Beanie Hat class on Sunday, April 2nd. This is a great second class option that will get you well on your way to your first hat. $50.
The Entrelac Scarf – Purling Backwards course is a great intro to the technique of purling backwards (sure to speed up your knitting) all while learning the unique art of entrelac. This course begins on Wednesday, April 5th and you have the option of knitting a scarf or wrap. $65.
The First Hat – Ribbed Beanie class is a great second course after completing the Intro to Knitting Course and gives you a versatile hat that can be styled a variety of ways. This class begins on Saturday, April 8th. $65.
Bring your knitting into the summer while learning to make this summer weight tank! You’ll learn all about fitting a garment and knitting stripes while creating this go-to piece. The Striped Spring Tank class begins on Sunday, April 9th. $80.
Learn top-down raglan sweater construction while making a warm weather top in the Spring Tee class starting on Saturday, April 15th. You’ll then have all the skills needed to fill your closet with cozy sweaters by the time winter returns. $80.
