About the Parkway Classic
Old George Himself to Fire Starting Gun…
Okay, not really. But the Parkway Classic is Alexandria’s Hometown Race, and so much more, with the Parkway route connecting two of the area’s most historic spots. The starting gun (sadly, no musket) fires right from the steps of GW’s home– the picturesque Mount Vernon Estate. From there, you’ll travel down the tree-lined namesake Parkway to another of George’s destinations– charming Old Town, Alexandria. A taste of history included in race fee. Powdered wigs and bonnets not.
