Inspired for Spring: Hempathy

Inspired for Spring: Hempathy

Even though we were just hit with a blast of winter this past week, spring is in the air and before we know it warmer days will be upon us. Enter Hempathy: the perfect yarn for spring and summer. For those of us who love to wear our knits year round, Hemapthy offers the perfect opportunity to knit tanks, tees, and yes – even sweaters! – for warmer weather.  A blend of cotton, hemp, and modal – Hempathy drapes beautifully, breathes wonderfully, and wears comfortably.

One of our favorite pieces to knit out of Hempathy can be spotted at the shop, as a sample is hanging around to tempt you. The Saco Striped Tank is a great introduction to garment making, with simple construction and straight forward finishing. This a-line tank is the perfect accompaniment to any warm-weather wardrobe and is as cute over white slacks as it is as a beach-side cover up. Make it in bold stripes for a funky wardrobe piece or classic neutrals. If you need a little help tackling this cute make, we’d love to have you join us this April, as the Saco Striped Tank is an upcoming class! (join us  Sundays, April 9, 23 & 30, 2-4 PM)

Another shop favorite, the Edie Tee is also being offered as a class this spring! This tee would make a lovely addition to any weekend wardrobe. Classic, comfortable, and knit in the round this tee would be a great starter sweater for anyone looking to get into the garment game! (join us Saturdays, April 15, 22 & 29, 2-4 PM)

For those of you looking for an independent study, Quince & Co. and Pom Pom Quarterly have a plethora of cute spring and summer knits below. You can create a take-everywhere cardigan, a lacy tee, a color blocked tank and more!
