With the arrival of the super cool Spincycle Yarns Dyed in the Wool, we’ve been itching to find just the right pattern to show off all the beautiful colors. If you’re a handspinner, the look of Dyed in the Wool should be rather familiar, but if not, don’t fret. This yarn, err… wool, is dyed before the spinning process, rather than after as in most cases. This allows the colors to blend and twist around each other, creating an awesome barber pole effect. The resulting effect in the knitted project is almost striped, with each band of color fading into the next.
Simone Barry’s Jonesy top is a great tee that is the perfect pairing of yarn and pattern, as well as functioning as a unique layering piece. You have the chance during the finishing to create fun gathers and button bands on the side seams, adding visual interest. The choice of short or long sleeves is a tricky one, so why not make both?
Here’s ours!
Pattern Sizing
To fit bust sizes 28 (30, 34, 38, 42, 46) inches. The top is designed with about 5” of positive ease, but Simone recommends just knitting a size smaller if you want a more fitted top.

Style It!
While this top can so easily be dressed up or down, my first thought is to wear it under a tailored blazer paired with a great pair of slacks and patent leather pumps. Why not take an otherwise mundane set of work-wear staples and pop them with a colorful top?

Jonesy also looks fabulous with a great pair of jeans or your favorite pencil skirt. The possibilities are practically endless and this single item can easily take you from day to night.
