Just landed: The new Blue Sky Fibers

Blue Sky has officially said goodbye to “Alpacas” — at least as a part of their moniker. Now you’ll find the same amazing yarn under the more well-rounded Blue Sky Fibers. Naturally, along with this name change comes a brand new yarn. Welcome, Woolstok.

Along with the new yarn? New patterns! Here are six patterns designed just for Woolstok:

This giant, wooly wrap makes me long for winter. (Uh, don’t hold me to that when we end up with October snow again…) Blue Sky says this is not just fun to wear, but also fun to knit! And, it’s great for advanced beginners, with panels featuring knit-purl and yarn overs. (© blue sky fibers)

One word: Tassels! Oh, and also bands of seeded stockinette, plus garter stitch ridges, which lend structure and texture to this cute, loose fitting hat. You know you want one, too. (© blue sky fibers)

This two-color scarf allows for some excellent color blocking — and its extra length allows for mega wrapping! (© blue sky fibers)

We just love the versatility of this snood: You can wear it as a cowl, a capelet or a hood. This is knit in the round, from the bottom up, and decreases to make the neck narrower than the shoulders. Cozy! (© blue sky fibers)

How do you make a comfy sweater chic? Crop it, of course. This sweater also has longer sleeves, a wide neck, and a fun 3×1 ribbing, giving a traditional raglan-sleeve sweater a more modern look. (© blue sky fibers)

Ol’ Blue isn’t left out in the cold, either. (No really, this is Blue Sky Fibers’ company dog Blue!) The pattern comes in five dog sizes and is “cleverly worked in one piece, creating leg openings as you go.” It’s made with two contrasting colors, and the striping is created using intarsia. Sounds challenging… but look at how adorable! Worth it. (© blue sky fibers)
