We have two wonderful trunk shows currently in space. Swing by to see the New Girl collection, a sweet gathering of knits for the little girls in your life. We also have the entire collection from Home and Away by Hannah Fettig, as well as the books. See all of these beautiful items in person until May 22!
The Hazel Knits Pop Up Shop is nearly here! You’ll be able to purchase one of a kind colorways and the popular big wheels from May 4th-8th. You’ll also have a chance to meet Wendee, the dyer genius behind Hazel Knits as well!
A crafting trifecta is coming to Old Town! Stitch Sew Shop is a brand new fabric store opening up this Sunday in our old location on Fayette Street. Be sure to join us on May 14th for the first annual Old Town Craft Walk. Visit Potomac Bead Company, Stitch Sew Shop and us here at fibre space for a day filled with crafting adventures. There will be snacks and fun craft activities in each location and even exciting drawings for those who visit all three shops.
Susan B. Anderson is indeed coming to space in May! She will be offering the Build a Toy workshop on May 19th, Exploring Shawl Shapes workshop and Top-Down Seamless Dolls workshop on May 20th, and the Design You Own Fair Isle Mitts workshop and Egg to Owl workshop on May 21st. Exploring Shawl Shapes, Top-Down Seamless Dolls and Fair Isle Mitts are currently sold out, but please give us a call to be placed on the wait list.
Our spring charity stitch in space will be held on May 22 from 4-6 pm. We will be stitching baby hats, touch blankets and bunting for donation to area hospitals in connection with the area’s Pregnancy and Infant Loss Network. See below for more info on the stitch-a-long!
Mark your calendars for World Wide Knit in Public Day on June 18th. Join us from 1-4 pm at the Commerce Street Park to share our craft with the world. We’ll also have prize drawings all day!

Treat yourself to a new skill this spring with our Introduction to Knitting or Introduction to Crochet classes!
Ready to try cables? The Intro to Cabling – Cabled Scarf class on Monday, May 2 is a great place to start. You’ll learn how to execute cable stitches and read a cable chart, all while beginning a beautiful scarf. $50.
Dive into your next crochet project in the Choose Your Own Crochet Adventure course starting on Tuesday, May 3rd. Choose from a hat, cowl or blanket to grow your crochet skills while creating a beautiful and functional item. $65.
Learn how to cable while making a reversible cabled shawl in the Reversible Cable Shawl class starting on Monday, May 9. You’ll learn the basics of cabling and shawl shaping to make this visually striking project. $80.
Colorwork projects don’t have to be scary. Learn how to do slip-stitch, also known as mosaic, colorwork knitting in the Slip Stitch Colorwork Hat class starting on Tuesday, May 10th. $65.
Learn the basics of lace in the Lace Cowlette class starting on Wednesday, May 11th. This cute cowl gives the look of a shawlette with the wearability of the cowl. $65.
Create your very own feminine lace cardigan in the Bottom Up Lace Raglan class beginning on Thursday, May 12th. You’ll learn how bottom up raglan sweaters are constructed as well as how to read lace charts, create beautiful button bands and graft your knitting seamlessly. $80.
Try your hand at lace in the Intro to Lace Shawl – Mitali class with designer Dee O’Keefe on Saturday, May 14th. Since it’s knit out of worsted weight, you’ll be off to knitting your own beautiful lace shawl in no time. $50.
Make a fun cowl that incorporates lace and picot hems in the Picot and Lace Cowl class starting on Saturday, May 14th. This cowl is as fun to wear as it is to make and is sure to turn heads. $50.
The Beginner Lace Shawls – Thurmont class beginning on Sunday, May 15th is a great introduction to the basics of lace knitting and one method of shawl construction. You’ll learn all the essentials required to make a lovely lace shawl a quick and relaxing knit. $65.

- Saturday: 10am to 7pm (no change)
