Pattern Ideas:
Many of these projects would be equally stunning out of either yarn, despite being designed for one in particular!
Yummy 2-Ply:
Miss Babs does variegated colorways very well, but sometimes it’s a challenge to find just the right pattern. Miss Winkle by Martina Behm is another one of her fabulous garter-based shawls, but uses a fun spiral edging to add some pizazz.

Cosette by Jennifer Wood is a lovely cardigan with lace panels running down the center back, both fronts and sleeves. Pair a tonal solid with delicate buttons for a feminine sweater that will be perfect for springtime.

Shawls are a great use for Yummy 2-ply! While solid colors are typically best for lace, Moonlit Mirage by Sharon Mooney would be a great option for a skein with a lot of tonal variation. With its long crescent shape, it’s very versatile and comes with option of adding beads. Since Yummy 2-ply has great stitch definition, intricate shawls like Bauble by Kathryn McNaughton are perfect for more solid colors (and a bit of focus).

Due to the Superwash nature of this yarn, it’s great for baby and kids knits. The Baby Tee and matching Crème Brûlée Stocking Cap by Kate Oates are cute, quick knits. Since the sizing goes from preemie to child, you can easily make the same sweater all the little ones in your life, regardless of age.

Northumbria Fingering:
Local designer Rich Ensor’s Elegant Chain Socks published for free on our website uses a unique fine cable design that runs down the entire sock. The design is completely unisex and the sizing available in the pattern means you can fit the socks to any foot that may cross your path. The tight twist of Northumbria Fingering offers fantastic stitch definition, while the BFL composition offers a longer-lasting yarn under high stress conditions like socks.

Stephen West’s Smooth Move features 6 (!) different colors of fingering weight yarn for this cool striped shawl, though two skeins each of three colors will make a cool color blocked version. Pick similar colors for a subtle look or go crazy with bright, variegated colorways. The options are totally endless!
