Materials

  • 1 skein Manos del Uruguay Maxima (218 yards worsted weight Merino) as MC
  • 1 skein Neighborhood Fiber Co. Loft (330 yards lace weight Mohair and Silk) as CC (this yarn is held 2 stranded so work either by pulling from both ends or split into 2 cakes)
  • US #9 (5.5 mm) 16″ circular needle
  • Stitch Marker
  • Darning needle

Gauge – not critical for this project!

Abbreviations

Garter stitch (in the round):

Row 1: knit all

Row 2: purl all

Repeat rows 1 and 2.

Instructions

CO 84 stitches with MC and join to work in the round.

Then, with 1 strand MC and 2 strands CC held together knit four rows of garter stitch (in the round -see above)

**Then with MC-only (drop the CC but do not cut): (k3, p3) to end of round for three rows.

Then with MC and 2 strands CC: (k3, p3) to end of round for three rows.**

Repeat from ** to **, ending after three rows of MC-only, until work measures 11.5 inches (or 1 inch less than desired length).

Then, with 1 strand MC and 2 strands CC, knit eight rows of garter-in-the-round as set forth above.

BO loosely, knit-wise with MC-only, weave in ends and wet-block.
