Greetings from space! Here’s what’s been going on this week.
New Arrivals
Thing week brought the arrival of two new yarns to space. Fresh from Neighborhood Fiber Co., we have Cobblestone Sock! This yarn made its debut at Maryland Sheep and Wool and is now available in the shop. Milled using the same base as Cobblestone DK, this blend of 75% BFL/15% Cashmere/10% silk packs 400 yards to the skein and has taken color in a sumptuous and creamy way. $32 per skein
We’ve also received a new yarn from Berroco – Modern Cotton. This gorgeous blend of 60% pima cotton/40% modal is currently available in 17 rich and vibrant colorways. Each skein has 209 yards and costs $8.50.
Just in case you need a little inspiration for all the new yarn, we’ve got some great new books in stock. Home & Away: Knits for Everyday Adventures and Coop Knits Socks: Volume Two both landed in space this week. Stop by and check them out!

Events
We’re thrilled to be hosting Kirsten Kapur for a trunk show and workshop this Saturday! Master designer Kirsten Kapur will be on-site all day signing copies of her first book, Shawls Book One, and sharing the trunk show with us on Saturday, June 6. Additionally, Kirsten will be teaching the Duane Park Shawl on Saturday, June 6 from 2-6 pm ($85). Take the workshop, learn from the master, and then join us for our June knitalong!
What’s Hot
Have you cast on for the Duane Park Shawl Knitalong? Most of the yarnistas are working away on theirs. Our main colors are a little scattered: Kim’s working with Miss Babs in Coos Bay (a mid greeny blue), Arthella’s working with Neighborhood Fiber Co. in a super saturated Georgetown, I’m working with Neighborhood Fiber Co. Cobblestone Sock (so woolly, so buttery) in Charles Center, and Danielle is either starting with Periwinkle Sheep Watercolors in Cobblestone or Cayenne. Join us throughout the month of June as we knit this great shawl and use the hashtag #duaneparkknitalong when you share your progress on Instagram or Ravelry. Learn more about the knitalong here.
