Greetings from space! Here’s what’s been happening around the shop!
New Arrivals
We unpack a big box Miss Babs Yummy 2-ply AND Yummy 3-ply. We’ve got an assortment of some of her excellent variegated colorways, including the new Irises, Drunk Watermelon, and Mad Hatter!
We also opened up our newest shipment from Gynx! This time out, we received her sport weight bases in a mix of self-striping and multis. Just think – fantastic self-striping socks in less time than standard fingering weight, without the bulk of worsted socks. Perfect.
We also received Madder Anthology Volume 2. This gorgeous collection from Carrie Bostick Hodge features a collection of garments and accessories sure to inspire.
For our fiber enthusiasts, we are freshly restocked with four different sizes of drop spindles as well as a ton of new roving. Stop by the shop to check it out!
Events
Carson Demers is coming this week! We’re pumped to hosting Carson for a series of workshops on ergonomics and knitting. Carson is a physical therapist, fiber enthusiast, designer and teacher. His passion and experience in fiber arts combine with his expertise in physical therapy and ergonomics to create a unique skill set that he eagerly shares with the fiber community at local yarn shops, guilds, and major knitting events across the country.
There are just a few seats left in KnitRX (Friday, May 15, 6-9pm, $75) and Ergonomics on the Go (Saturday, May 16, 10am-1pm). Grab yours now!
Master designer Kirsten Kapur is joining us in early June for two shawl workshops and a book signing! Kirsten’s first book, Kirsten Kapur Designs Shawl Book One, a collection of her best loved shawls, has recently been released and is available at the shop. She will be signing books and sharing the trunk show with us on Saturday, June 6 from 10 am-7 pm. Additionally, Kirsten will be teaching two workshops over the weekend: Top Down Lace Shawl on Friday, May 15 from 3-7 pm ($85) and Duane Park Shawl on Saturday, June 6 from 2-6 pm ($85). Danielle and the yarnistas are contemplating a June knitalong from Kirsten’s designs. Sign up for a workshop to get the inside scoop from the designer herself and then join us in June when we get down to shawl making.
