We’ve also welcomed the Fibre Co. & Kelbourne Woolen’s Summer Sweater Trunk Show to the shop this week. The collection of sweaters knit out of Savannah will be in the shop through May 19th for your inspirational browsing. Savannah is back in stock! This beefy sport weight yarn is a blend of 50% wool/20% cotton/15% linen/15% soya for a homey, earthy feel. Each skein carries 160 yards.

Events

We’re thrilled to be hosting excellent workshops over the next few months!

Carson Demers will be joining us in mid-May for a series of workshops on the ergonomics of knitting. Carson is a physical therapist, fiber enthusiast, designer and teacher. His passion and experience in fiber arts combine with his expertise in physical therapy and ergonomics to create a unique skill set that he eagerly shares with the fiber community at local yarn shops, guilds, and major knitting events across the country.

Come and learn how to knit without getting that pain in your shoulder or twinge in your neck. Carson will be here in mid-May teaching KnitRX (Friday, May 15, 6-9pm, $75), Ergonomics on the Go (Saturday, May 16, 10am-1pm), and Swatchbuckling (Saturday, May 16, 2-5pm). Seats are filling up, grab yours now!

Master designer Kirsten Kapur is joining us in early June for two shawl workshops and a book signing! Kirsten’s first book, Kirsten Kapur Designs Shawl Book One, a collection of her best loved shawls, has recently been released and is available at the shop. She will be signing books and sharing the trunk show with us on Saturday, June 6 from 10 am-7 pm. Additionally, Kirsten will be teaching two workshops over the weekend: Top Down Lace Shawl on Friday, May 15 from 3-7 pm ($85) and Duane Park Shawl on Saturday, June 6 from 2-6 pm ($85). Danielle and the yarnistas are contemplating a June knitalong from Kirsten’s designs. Sign up for a workshop to get the inside scoop from the designer herself and then join us in June when we get down to shawl making.

Whether you’ve finished your tee or not, we hope you’ve enjoyed knitting along with us. If you did finish, don’t forget to post a picture of your project to the Ravelry thread in order to be entered in our drawing for a $50 gift card!
