We’re down to the last few days of the April. Where did the month go?!? Danielle and I are still plugging along. Danielle is moving through her front piece, while I’m wrapping up the neck and arm bands. I was really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed seaming this garment together. I’ve got it in my head that I hate seaming. Really, it’s that seaming makes me apprehensive. I hate having to go back and redo something, and I’m always concerned that I’ll have to do exactly that when I seam. This time through, it went really well and made me want to seam all the things. I may or may not be scheming up color combinations for an Alloy (NFC Sheridan Park for the body and Federal Hill for the contrast) or hunting for the perfect interesting neutral for Corvina (fingers crossed for Hazel Knits). Trust me when I say the seaming on this sweater is a totally do-able challenge.

So far we’ve seen one finished sweater. Congratulations Younah! For everyone else, you’ve still got a few days to get your sweater in under the wire. Whether you’re nearing done or not, we’d love to see how you’re doing. Personally I found this project fun and a little dull at times. The 3×3 diagonal rib required just enough attention that I couldn’t really zone out, making it not quite ideal tv knitting. On the other hand, I’m really looking forward to wearing the piece and am glad to have something that got me over my aversion to seaming. The lesson here is progress. We’re making things to enjoy while gaining confidence in areas that we may or may not have realized needed help. Sounds like a great project to me.
Please do share your project on the Ravelry thread or use the hashtag #fsAprilKnitalong on Instagram. Finished or not, we’d love to hear about your experiences with the tee. Thanks for knitting along with us!
Happy stitching!
