How’s week three treating you? We’ve seen some great progress coming into the shop. Danielle’s working on her front, and I’ve joined the front and back. My sweater is drying on blocking boards as I type, awaiting seaming. As an aside, does anyone else feel like they’ve gotten really good at counting to three subconsciously? That may be what I take away from this project.

The trick to seaming this sweater is blocking. Yes, as a general rule you should block all your pieces before you seam them, but sometimes we want to play fast and loose and get a garment done. This is not the moment for that. This is the moment for getting the stockinette to lay flat so that you can get everything to line up nicely. Once you’ve got a blocked (flat) piece, line up your sides, decide how far down you want the underarm to start and then seam from there to the hem. There are many resources for seaming, but one of my favorite tutorials is a few years old from Purl Bee.
Hope this helps! Remember, post a picture of your finished project in the Ravelry thread by April 30 to be entered to win a $50 gift card.
Happy stitching!
