It’s the most wonderful time of the year – for foodies, at least: Restaurant Week 2015!
This year’s celebration of the best food in Alexandria takes place Jan. 23 – yes, Friday! – to Feb. 1. Unlike DC’s Restaurant Week, Alexandria’s take has three different pricing options for lunch: $10, $15 or $20 per person. And it has a couple of different dinner options as well: Some restaurants are offering dinner for two for $35, while others are offering a three-course prix fixe that’s $35 per person. So take a look at your favorites (and your wallet) and make your reservations.
Speaking of favorites, at least two of our faves are participating in the lunch option – Columbia Firehouse and Vermillion.
Columbia Firehouse, at 109 S. Saint Asaph Street, is featuring a three-course, $20 per person lunch. The restaurant calls itself an “American brasserie and bar … devoted to familiar comfort foods.” The setting is just as cool as the food is tasty. And you’ll definitely want to go back in the evening when you can enjoy a cocktail or two.
The other spot we personally can vouch for – Vermillion, at 1120 King Street – also has the three-course, $20 per person lunch deal. Their food is described as “simple, farm-driven American cooking.” If you love anything farm-to-table – and simply good food – you will love this spot as much as we do. Again, the drink list is amazing. Highly recommend an evening return trip to this one, too!
