New Arrivals
Did you hear? We have a giant book sale going on right now. Stop by the shop for up to 40% off a wide range of titles. Not on sale but also exciting, we have signed copies of Knit Nordic available for anyone who may have missed this week’s book signing with the author and designer Eline Oftedal.

Events
We announced a whole host of events this week with something for everyone.
First up: we are throwing a Pom Pom Party on Friday, November 21! Kick off the holidays with a night of learning to make pom poms. Help us create our holiday window and watch Love Actually with us. In return we will reward you with hot cocoa from Artfully Chocolate, homemade marshmallows from the Sugar Cube and more! Bring your pom pom maker, borrow one of ours or purchase one at the shop for future pom pom making fun. No reservation required.
Save the date! The amazing duo Stephen West of Westknits and Steven Berg of StevenBe will at fibre space™ from January 29th through the 31st for their second fiberlicious road show of knitting classes and events. This magical team of knitting and design inspiration will bring an amazing breath of fun to Old Town Alexandria. More details and registration will open next week so be sure to keep an eye on your email!
We are starting to announce workshops for the new year (Fall in Love with Fibre with Molly Miller and Learn to Weave the Saori Way: Free Style, so far). You can always get a run down of upcoming events, classes and workshops on our calendar and blog.
Classes
It’s never too late to learn a new skill. We’ve got great instructors and interesting classes to give you a feeling of accomplishment.
Learn the simple pleasures of timeless crochet with Introduction to Crochet – Granny Squares. This two week class begins on Saturday, November 15 at 10am ($60).
Love the idea of fingerless mitts and learning new crochet stitches? Our Crochet Fingerless Mitts on Monday, November 17 at 7 pm ($40) will teach you everything you need to know.
Learn the basics of knitting with Introduction to Knitting. Our last November session starts this weekend on Saturday, November 8 at 5 pm. This three week class costs $75.
Ready to step beyond knitting rectangles? Learn to work in the round with our First Hat – Beanie or Beret Slouch Hat starting Saturday, November 15 at 3 pm ($65).
Want to give lace a chance? A new section of the ever-popular Beginner Shawl, Jimi has just been added. Beginning Wednesday, December 10 at 7 pm, this two week class is taught by the shawl’s designer Dee O’Keefe ($65).
Looking to tackle your first blanket? Chevron Baby Blanket is just the ticket. Learn increasing and decreasing during this one night workshop on Wednesday, November 19 at 6pm ($50).
Maybe you’d like to learn lace on an object for your home. Our Introduction to Lace – Lace Blanket class meets Monday, November 17 at 7 pm ($40).
What’s Hot
Today (November 13) is the last day to share your finished sweaters from this fall’s Knitalong with Miss Babs. You can read about our experiences with the sweater here. Be sure to post a photo of your sweater to the Ravelry forum to be entered to win free yarn!
