Halloween in Old Town

Halloween in Old Town

It’s about to get scary in the Old Town “boo-tique” district! With Halloween just around the corner (I know — already?!), local business have some fun events coming up for kids and Halloween-loving adults, too, to get everyone in a festive mood.

First up, on Sunday, Oct. 12, there are two cookie-decorating sessions at La Cuisine. The first, “Bootiful Beginner Halloween Cookie Class with Katrina Tines,” is from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the second, intended for the more advanced decorator, “Katrina’s Intermediate Cookie Decorating Class with Spooky Techniques,” is 2:30 to 5 p.m. The cost of the class and materials for each session is $120. Read more about the sessions.

The main event, Trick or Treat with the Boo-tiques! will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you’ve never participated, it’s as easy as regular trick-or-treating — but without the unwelcoming dark streets and suspect neighbors (you know the ones). So, get all decked out in Halloween’s most ghoulish gear and stomp around the Boutique District, where businesses will be dishing out treats to goblins and ghosts alike. No flashlights necessary.

If you’re a Halloween lover and a dog lover, The Dog Park is hosting its annual Doggy Trick or Treat event the following day, starting at 1 p.m. Pick up a goodie bag and map of participating businesses at the shop and then go out on a tour of Old Town with Man’s Best Friend — in his or her best costume, of course. The event ends at 3.

So you’re on notice: It’s time to get going on the best scary and sweet costumes Old Town has ever seen. We look forward to seeing you then!
