You know that I often talk about how fibre space is really a space for people to gather, celebrate, and support one another—to truly be in community with one another. Over the weekend, we lost a bright presence in our fibre family, Katie Krueger, who was lost to a fatal accident in Arlington on Sunday. Over the years, it has been incredible to see Katie in the shop, as she has been a supporter and friend since long before I opened this brick-and-mortar space. You could feel her presence as soon as she entered, as she always had a warm smile and crafty mischief in her eyes. She carried a kind, gentle, and grounding attitude, and it was a joy to be around her, sharing laughs and crafty adventures. Whether it was discussing the next Kim Hargreaves kit she was working on or her work in Sudan where she positively impacted our global community, she gifted us all with her kindness and energy.
Join us this week as we round out our Summer class programming with some independent studies! If you`ve got questions about any new skills or techniques you`ve been working on recently, if you`re stumped on a pattern, or just want somewhere to get a little one on one help with whatever you`re stitching up these classes are the best place for it!
