We have two yarns back in stock just in time for spring knitting – Softknit Cotton and Summer Tweed. Both yarns are worsted weight but really quite different from each other!
Softknit Cotton is a chain ply that is 92% cotton and 8% nylon. It is amazingly washable and the nylon helps to keep the cotton held together and prevent pilling. It has become a staple at the shop for baby items, and I am so glad to see it back in stock again. If you need adult pattern inspiration, check out the Softknit Collection book, a contemporary take on traditional Aran cabled designs with 16 patterns for men and women. Here is one of my favorites from the collection:
Killarney – a lightweight vest to wear over a cotton shirt this spring.

Another great option for an adult spring garment is Beeline from Heidi Kirrmaier. Nice lightweight pullover for the cool nights?
Summer Tweed is an wonderful tweed option for a season that has very few tweed options! It is an aran/worsted weight silk and cotton blend with a gorgeous rustic texture. Right now our go to pattern for this yarn is the Churchmouse pattern, Shoulder Cozy, which we sell at the shop. Pair it with a skein of Neighborhood Fiber Co Loft and it makes a soft and snuggly accessory for the season.
