I recently purchased this dress during a moment of weakness at the mall. Admittedly, I am not a mall shopper. I much prefer to walk the streets of Old Town but our house is still somewhat of a construction zone and getting out of it and walking the mall seemed like a nice break. Maddy loves the mall. There is lots to look at. And she is quite the flirt.
So of course this dress needed a handknit piece to complete it. And probably some mary jane shoes, but I will figure that out later. I jumped to my existing library of patterns and found the Cradle Cardigan by Hannah Fettig. I used Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino. It took a little less than 3 skeins. This is an easy top down raglan. Although I really do hate knitting in black, it was the color that this sweater needed to be. It took only two days. I did add another button to it, making three total. Worked up nicely! Simple and cute.
The problem is that after doing laundry and hanging up the new dress and sweater, I realized that I had run out of hangers in Maddy’s closet. She now has so many outfits that I don’t have enough hangers for them all. She is only 7 months old. This is a bit out of control. Someone help me. I can’t stop. I am already plotting the next piece – a long sweater vest to wear over her “spring blouses.” Yup. I just typed that. You read it right.
