My new obsession: Debbie Bliss Milano

My new obsession: Debbie Bliss Milano

Fall is all about tweed, and this year I brought in two new ones: Debbie Bliss Milano and Sublime Luxury Aran Tweed. Milano is just so incredibly unique that I have to get it on needles asap! Perhaps it will be my way into full adult size sweater knitting. Milano is a tweedy aran-weight blend of wool, silk, nylon, poly, and acrylic that knits up with a texture reminiscent of classic Chanel suits! The suggested gauge is 4.25 on a US#8. It just wants to be stockinette stitch so badly, and I really need a basic stockinette stitch project right now! You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find jackets and cardigans with little to no “funny business” going on. No point in having a stitch pattern that won’t show up in this yarn. The pattern booklet has 12 very stylish options, thankfully, and I also scoured Ravelry for a few others.

Motorcycle jackets are hot for fall – the Milano version takes 10-15 balls of a main color and 1 ball of a solid color for contrast:

Rock some great boots & tights with the Scoop Neck Dress (takes 14 – 20 balls) for an awesome fall look:

For just a taste of tweed, try the adorable Thistle hat pattern from Ravelry or a Baby Sophisticate cardigan for your favorite tiny fashionista!

But I think the Deep Water would look great in Milano as well – (10 – 15 balls) and this might be what I cast on for. I am also considering the New Concetta

because a basic top down raglan just sounds like something I might actually be able to finish! And only one button hole 😉
