Knitscene Fall 2013 is here with 21 knitting patterns that are perfect for knitting now and wearing later!

Some things we’re excited about:
Ombré is in! Our favorite long color repeat yarns from Freia get a mention (we’ve got lace, fingering, and worsted weights). Grab a Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball for the Terrace Socks – you just need one!

Love the look of cables but don’t want to bother with a cable needle? Make mock cables! Pick your favorite color of cushy soft Blue Sky Alpaca Worsted Hand Dyes for the Impression Vest – you’ll need 5-9 skeins for your own!

Knit a Correlation Cardigan for cool weather in a heavy worsted weight like Spud & Chloe Sweater or tweedy Berroco Remix – both are conveniently machine washable! (You’ll need 8-12 skeins of Sweater or 6-9 balls of Remix.)

The Fabrication Pullover looks like it’s cabled but you’ll really be knitting lace! Work it in a worsted weight like Stonehedge Fiber Mill Shepherd’s Wool (you’ll need 5-7 skeins) or go retro with Erika Knight Vintage Wool (you’ll need 11-18 skeins).

Make some waves! Missoni-inspired chevrons are front and center (I love chevrons!) along with an article on chevron shaping techniques. The Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool we just got in is great for the slip-stitch colorwork in the Varese Pullover – you need 2-3 skeins in your main color and 1-2 skeins in each of 7 contrast colors.

Can we talk about the Emmanuelle Sweater? Because I need to cast on for this RIGHT NOW.

I’m thinking Spud & Chloe Sweater for the bright pops of color, or shimmery Fibre Company Organik if I decide I feel like making a more luxurious sweater. It’ll take 6-9 skeins of Sweater for the main color and a skein for each of the 5 contrast colors. In Organik, you’ll need 10-15 skeins of your main color plus your 5 contrast colors.
I love the color combo in the Zahara Cardigan – we’ve got tons of color options in Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino or Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio Sport for a hand-dyed option. In Baby Cash you’ll need 8-12 skeins for your main color and 4-6 skeins for contrast. In Studio Sport you need 3-5 skeins of your main color and 2 skeins of the contrast.

Show off the “wrong” side of your knitting with some “pretty sweet” sweater patterns featuring reverse stockinette stitch. The Penny Candy Cardigan is so classic and elegant in Fibre Company Acadia. (You need 7-11 skeins.)
