Marly Scarf

by Jane Stanley

Marly is a spring-time scarf knitted by holding two strands of different colored lace-weight silk Habu yarns together to create a unique marled look. Marly can be knit in both a big (large) or a little (small) size. The pattern is written the same for both Big Marly and Little Marly, the only difference being the number of CO stitches and the amount of yarn. Make Marly as-written or check out the two suggested modifications found at the end of the pattern.

Materials

  • Big Marly: 2 cones each of two colors of A-1 2/17 Habu Tsumugi Silk
  • Little Marly: 1 cone each of two colors of A-1 2/17 Habu Tsumugi Silk
  • US size 4 needles; gauge is approx. 24 st over 30 rows = 4 inches
  • waste yarn and a crochet hook for the provisional cast on
  • a darning needle

Abbreviations

  • yo = yarn over
  • k2tog = knit 2 stitches together
