My knitalong distraction

My knitalong distraction

How is everyone progressing on their knitalong projects? With only a few days left, I am hoping to see some completed shawls come visit the shop this week! I got a little distracted with a last minute baby knitting project for a friend whose baby was born on Monday. It was just so cold over the weekend that I thought the little one could use something warm to ride home from the hospital. Now that the baby is almost ready to come home, it is, of course, a good 70 degrees out there. I guess you can’t plan stitching around the weather in this area.

I also made the romper that goes with this set and then like with so many other gifts that I knit, I wrapped it all up and delivered it without taking a single photograph of the adorable thing. ugh! So I have no evidence of what was distracting me from my night sky project for the weekend.

Here is the designer’s photo instead (I realize this doesn’t count as evidence):

I used Spud and Chloe Sweater for a nice cotton like feel and machine wash-ability.  While I am a bit more fond of 100% merino or wool for baby, most moms aren’t. So I went with something that still had a touch of merino for warmth but the cotton for softness.  I was also sure to sew the buttons with one long piece of thread so that they are connected to one another and not individually sew on. This will help prevent a button from coming off and being swallowed by the little one.

As for my knitalong project, I am at row 139 of the last set of charts and estimate that I need another few hours to finish. I have no idea what awaits me in the border, but at this point, I can’t believe that I am so close to finishing a circular anything. I have a serious block when it comes to circular shawls…so this could be a big breakthrough for me! How are you all doing on your Celestarium?

***UPDATE

I found evidence of the romper existing!!
