We just received a large restock of Neighborhood Fiber Co Studio Worsted at the shop! This is one of our top yarns in the store for a reason! The nice tight twist on this merino makes is very durable, with gorgeous stitch definition. We got in 35 colorways (9 skeins of each), and with a hefty 400 yards per skein ($40), there is plenty available for sweater and blanket quantities. Here are some new colors that we haven’t seen in this yarn previously:
We took a quick look at our recent book arrivals and found a few projects that might inspire you!
From Pet Projects: The Animal Knits Bible:
We found this fun (albeit slightly rediculous project). The Anti-Firework Dog Balaclava will protect your furry friends’ ears during fireworks or thunderstorms. It uses one skein of NFC worsted and one skein of NFC Loft or Kidsilk Haze:
Also just in, Melissa Leapman’s new book, Knitting the Perfect Fit.
The forward of this book is amazing, and would be a valuable resource to anyone interested in knitting sweaters. It contains in depth details on how to make a pattern work for you, what different kinds of increases/decreases look like, etc. We found this pattern for Studio Worsted: Cables n’ ribs. The awesome cables would really pop in NFC worsted. It would take 3-5 skeins, depending on your size.
In 60 Quick Baby Knits, we found a plethora of baby sweaters to choose from. (The entire book is designed in worsted weight!) The Lace Motif Cardigan is one of our favorites, using 1-2 skeins of yarn, depending on the size.
