I truly believe that fibre space™ is one part community and one part unique and amazing yarns. At the most recent trade show, we walked away incredibly excited about one particular new yarn line – Erika Knight Yarn Collection. I was delighted to meet Erika at her booth, where she excitedly talked about the concept behind her new yarn line, it’s colors and patterns. “It’s all about the wool” she kept saying…and boy it is! Today, we are delighted to announce that this yarn is here and ready for the fibre space™ community to embrace.
Erika Knight Yarn Collection
This yarn is made from premium wool and designed by Erika Knight, a respected knitwear and crochet designer; as well as a sought-after fashion and craft consultant. Erika has created knitwear ranges for many top brands including M&S, Whistles, Edina Ronay and Nicole Farhi in the UK, J. Crew and Gap in the US and Country Road in Australia.
Erika has worked with her mill to design not just “any wool.” Her wool is 100% natural British wool, shorn, spun, dyed, hanked and tagged within 37 miles of the mill in Yorkshire. The unique quality of the end product begs to be knit or crocheted into whatever the crafter can imagine.
Erika’s fine art background, passion for the hand made and ‘Simple’ ethos has created a unique interpretation on Craft.
My 100% British made yarn is a truly homegrown product. I am proud to be associated with the Campaign for Wool a countrywide initiative convened by HRH Prince of Wales, promoting the natural, sustainable origin of wool, and as such I am passionate to be bringing manufacturing back to Britain and keeping sheep a feature of our landscape.
My first collection is a small selection of yarns in a muted palette of colours with fashion highlights that I hope will inspire you to create, craft and covet..
This yarn is launching with a wonderful selection of simple knitting and crochet patterns focusing on quick fashion accessories and garments. We have several items already created for you to view at the shop. Each hank of yarn has a unique recycled and informative hang tag with a little gift ‘erika knight’ name tag for sewing in or on finished project.
