Materials
- 1 skein of Imperial Yarn Bulky 2 Strand in Color A (Teal in Sample)
- 1 skein of Imperial Yarn Bulky 2 Strand in Color B (Spiced Poppy in Sample)
- US#11 (8 mm) circular needles, plus one additional needle of the same size
- 4 buttons
- Stitch Marker
Gauge
14 sts and 14 rows / 4″ in stockinette stitch
Size
Sample has 2.5 repeats and is 22.5″ long and 10″ wide. This pattern can be adapted by changing the number of repeats

Instructions
Cast on 68 stitches with Color A.
Place marker and join for working in the round.
Work 5 rows in 2×2 rib.
Knit 1 row in Color A, increasing 1 st over the round.
Work Colorwork Chart. You should have 3 repeats of the chart.
Repeat Rows 1-24 of Colorwork Chart twice and Rows 1-12 of Colorwork Chart once. (To get a longer cowl, you can work additional chart repeats, but you will need to increase your yarn requirements.)
Knit 1 row in Color A, decreasing 1 st over the round.
Hold the two halves of the tubular cowl closed. With another needle, knit together one stitch from front needle with one stitch from back needle using Color A. (34 sts)
(p2, yo, k2tog) repeat 4 times total, (p2, k2) to last 2 sts, p2
Work in 2×2 rib for 4 rows.
Bind off loosely in pattern.
Block to desired measurements. Sew on buttons.
