So I am back from vacation and trying to jolt myself back into reality and a world that does not exist entirely on when and what will be my next fruity beverage. I spent so much time horizontal on the beach that being upright has been an adjustment that I have found quite unsettling. Unfortunately, my Ravellenic Games project was not furthered by the hours upon hours that I spent sitting around doing absolutely nothing. Because. Apparently. I did absolutely nothing.
On the last night of our stay, my husband went off to 5th in search of his souvenir for the trip – Mexican wrestling masks. He returned to our resort with two that I am sure he paid entirely too much money for. (Also, probably made in China.) I had reached full panic mode on the sweater at this point and was stitching away in the bar watching the Olympics.
I am ashamed to say that this sweater is more like a marathon and I am at the point in the race where I might just give up entirely. I have completed only about 10″ of the body of the sweater, leaving the rest of the body, front and back to knit, two sleeves and two miserable pockets. We have, what, five days left? I also appear to have this job thing here this is really getting in the way of my knitting time. I need the marathon equivalent of a power gel to kick this thing back into gear. I think this calls for a box of truffles and an all-nighter like my college days. If you drive by the shop after midnight and the lights and TV are on, that would be me…trying to get a fingering weight cardigan knit in five days. ugh. Guess the vacation is over!
