We asked some of the crew to make predictions about what they’d buy at this year’s Miss Babs pop up event...let’s just say things didn’t turn out how they predicted.
There’s lots of Miss Babs in space from the pop up, so grab your skeins before they’re gone! If you missed out on this year’s custom color Tidal Basin, keep your eyes out for an announcement, we’ll be restocking it again soon.
Back in space, locally grown merino from Gum Tree Farm Yarn! Gum Tree Farm hails from right down the road in Middleburg, Virginia, where owner Franny Kansteiner raises her certified organic Merino flock. Once beginning with just three lambs, her family farm is now home to a thriving flock of 300 and a dedication to handmade wool products. Established in 1995, Gum Tree Farm is a truly unique place – the sheep are born and raised on the farm, their wool is organically processed, and the fleece is spun at Green Mountain Spinnery and then woven into cloth for the handmade products sold at the farm. The whole making cycle, from sheep to shawl, is handmade in America.
We have three natural colors of Merino from Gum Tree – white, silver, and dark chocolate – in a beautifully springy worsted weight. This single-ply is rich with natural lanolin and lovely to work with. Check out some of our pattern inspiration below for this yarn.
This is a great yarn to pair with Spincycle Dream State or a hand spun!
