Alexandria has always taken pride in their history, even hosting a parade every President’s Day. However, until @manumissiontour started their operations, there was very little acknowledgement of the entire history of Alexandria. Alexandria was home to the largest slave trader in the country, and our history is very much Black history. We invite you to learn more about our local history through one of their tours. Manumission Tour Company curates guided cultural heritage tours designed to highlight Alexandria’s extensive African American History.
