Austin Hoodie finished!

Austin Hoodie finished!

I finished the Austin hoodie. Here are my notes on the hood (which I clearly didn’t do)

I found that the gap between the front neck stitches and the back neck stitches was much larger than the 1 stitch pick up was going to fill. Rather than risk a giant hole, I picked up 5 total stitches for my size (34.5″). On the next row, I decreased two of those stitches on each side before continuing to work the hood. This meant that I could skip the first couple of increase rows for the hood. About ten rows into the hood, I decided that there was no way that I had enough yarn for a hood and really had no desire to continue working on this sweater anyway. So I w 3.25″ of the hood before switching to garter stitch 7 rows and then binding off. This made a cute little collar and meant a much faster ending to the sweater.

I have paired it with a button up plum shirt (no collar) and a pair of skinny cords. (I am so happy to be wearing actual pants again!) The necklace is from B&W next door. I went in to buy a housewarming gift for my mother (a stain glass reading lamp) and tripped and fell over some jewelry. They know that if they wait long enough to run my credit card, I will start opening those evil drawers of jewelry. I also picked up this piece to wear with a dressier black shirt or dress.
