Today is Veronica’s wedding day. She and Simon are getting married in a private ceremony today. April, May and June are a time for weddings and more and more folks are coming in looking for yarn for a wedding inspired project, whether it be a shawl or shrug to wear as a guest or a lace wrap for the bride. Here are a few wedding inspired projects:
Eloping
This can be worked up in a night and is a wonderful addition to the bridal wardrobe. Work this in scraps of any lace weight yarn or use leftovers from the wedding shawl to make the matching garter!

Wedding Washcloths by Purlbee
Worked in Blue Sky Alpacas Skinny Dyed Cotton, these are fast and make an amazing gift for a new bride.
Lace Rib Knit Shrug by Crystal Palace yarns
Keep the shoulder’s warm at the reception (either bride or guest!) with this cute little shrug. It works up wonderfully in any worsted weight yarn. Try it in a hand dye like Madelinetosh or Neighborhood Fiber Company Studio Worsted or in a solid like Berroco Pure Merino.

Facing Lilies Stole by Nancy Bush
This shawl is in the latest issue of Interweave Knits. The stitch pattern is also one featured in the Haapsalu Shawl book available at the store. Work this up in Malabrigo Lace merino, Cascade Alpaca Lace or one of three lace weight yarns by Neighborhood Fiber Company. If you are looking for white or cream, be sure to ask us, as we can order “naked” yarn from the hand dyers.
