I have finished the first of my 12 sweaters (which I have committed to knitting in 12 months because, you know, got nuttin else goin on)
It is the Tea Leaves cardigan worked in Madelinetosh Worsted (now renamed Madelinetosh DK) in the color Twig. It took 4 hanks for the smallest size since the yardage on the worsted is longer than the yarn she calls for in the pattern. If I could do it again, the sweater would be shorter. I did stop an inch shorter than the pattern calls for.
Overall, I would rank this as an advanced beginner project. If you can knit and purl and work in the round, you are good to go! It involves increasing and decreasing as well. I love love love this sweater. A great start to the 12 sweaters that I hope to complete this year. The best part – I can put loudly colored buttons on it!
Veronica also has the first of her twelve complete. This is Ms. Marigold from the Zephyr Girls. She worked it up in Miss Babs Yowza, color Timberline. It took just one hank. It has ruffles on the shoulders. Veronica seems to think this is awesome. I have serious doubts. I am now committed to picking on her incessantly about the ruffles. She won’t rip them out. What do you think?
