I am eyeing up quite a few knitted toys this season for my nephew. With the growing concern over plastics and children’s toys, I’ve decided that a nice cotton stuffed animal might be the perfect gift. The Spud and Chloe blog has two free patterns for these little guys:

The frog has a tennis ball belly so he bounces!
We also have the Blue Sky Bobbi Bear and Baby Bobbi Bear patterns.

If knitting a baby toy out of alpaca isn’t your thing, try using Spud and Chloe washable yarns instead! (Course, if you are making it for yourself, go for the soft snuggly alpaca!) I made the baby bobbi for my mom a few years back in a navy blue Blue Sky Sport, and she loves it. It sits on her bed. This project is even a class this semester. These patterns are all worked in one piece and in the round. They are simpler than they appear!
