Go green – eco friendly shopping bag

Go green – eco friendly shopping bag

I am thinking of making this eco-tote for the trip to Nevis next week. I think it would make a great beach tote, don’t you? It’s on the class schedule and Linda is teaching a session on Monday at Greenberrys, which means that I don’t have to knit it as a class sample, which has actually made it more appealing to knit! It takes 100-150 grams of any dk or worsted weight yarn…and I recommend a cotton or hemp yarn. Thinking of using some of my giant stash of sublime organic cotton, although it seems sinful to knit a beach back with sublime organic cotton. Honestly, that Sugar n Cream stuff that you find at Michaels would be perfect for it.

If you can’t take the class and want to make it on your own, its a great intro to lace project. The pattern is the Grrlfriend Market Bag and is a free Ravelry download.
